Energy: Oil prices rallied yesterday after data revealed an unexpected drop in US crude inventories. The US Department of Energy (DoE) today said the country's commercial crude stockpiles slid by 3.4 million barrels last week. Analysts' consensus had been for a rise of 750,000 barrels. Crude oil may trade flat to positive on morning session.

Latest Mcx Gold News With Live Updates



Gold ticked lower on Thursday as the market took a breather after rallying 2.5 percent in the previous session following the Federal Reserve's decision to cut the number of planned interest rate hikes, adding to pressure on the dollar. Market Outlook:-

  • Spot gold slid 0.2 percent to $1,259.61 an ounce by 0035 GMT after notching its biggest one-day rally in five weeks on Wednesday to a high of $1,264 an ounce.
  • Asian shares gained early and the dollar was on the defensive after suffering substantial losses following the U.S. Federal Reserve's move to reduce the number of interest rate hikes planned for this year.
  • Spot gold had slid 0.6 percent to $1,255.07 an ounce by 0236 GMT, after notching up its biggest one-day rally in five weeks on Wednesday to a high of $1,264 an ounce
  • The dollar nursed losses in Asian trading on Thursday after declining sharply following the U.S. Federal Reserve's decision to halve its outlook for interest rate hikes to two from four by the end of this year.
  • U.S. oil prices jumped almost 6 percent on Wednesday, erasing losses of the past two days, after major producers firmed up plans to meet in Qatar to discuss an output freeze and U.S. crude stockpiles grew less than expected.
  • Gains in Asian stock markets and U.S. crude oil futures took their toll on the precious metal's safe-haven appeal.
  • BRIEF-Silver Wheaton Q4 loss per share $0.42.

MCX Bullion Trading Strategy With Live Market

  • Spot gold stepped back on Monday from near a three-month top hit the session before, after a U.S. jobs report cast some doubt over prospects for a quicker pace of rate hikes this year and pushed up the dollar.
  • Spot gold had slipped by 0.7 percent to $1,165.10 an ounce by 0008 GMT, as it fell back from its highest since Oct. 28 at $1,174.50 hit in the previous session.
  • Across other metals, platinum shed 0.2 percent to $904.24, while palladium held 0.4-percent gains at $501.30 an ounce.
  • Global stock markets slumped and the U.S. dollar rallied on Friday.
  • The market has opened flat on Monday. The Sensex is down 11.57 points or at 24605.40 and the Nifty is down 5.30 points at 7483.80. About 527 shares have advanced, 293 shares declined, and 44 shares are unchanged.

MCX Bullion Market Latest Updates by Money CapitalHeight


 •Gold held steady on Thursday as global equities remained volatile amid lower risk appetite and concerns over economic growth, and as investors waited for cues from U.S. jobs data. 

•Spot gold had eased 0.2 percent to $1,255.24 an ounce by 0323 GMT. Gold rose nearly $20 an ounce on Wednesday after a weak U.S. jobs report but pared most of the gains on other strong numbers.

•Platinum was trading flat as government-brokered talks between mine union AMCU and the world's three biggest platinum producers to end a two week wage strike in South Africa have adjourned to allow for individual consultations.

•Silver was also steady, holding on to overnight gains from the biggest one-day jump in nearly four weeks.

Watch MCX Bullion Market Updates and Trends


Gold rallied for a third session on Monday to its highest in two months as equities fell on worries that capital outflows from emerging economies would continue, boosting bullion's safe-haven appeal.
Gold may extend gains toward $1,300 an ounce this week, with a close above the 100-day moving average of $1,275.60

Silver futures for delivery in March gained 2 percent to $20.235 an ounce.
MCX SILVERMIC February contract was trading at Rs 44934 down Rs 3, or 0.01 percent. The SILVERMIC rate touched an intraday high of Rs 45090 and an intraday low of Rs 44700. So far 27141 contracts have been traded. SILVERMIC prices have moved up Rs 2934, or 6.99 percent in the February series so far.
