silver eased Rs 60 to Rs 41,040 per kg on lack of buying support from industrial units and coin makers.
Globally, gold rose 0.16 percent to USD 1,279.70 an ounce in London.
In the national capital, gold of 99.9 percent and 99.5 percent purity inched up by Rs 25 each to Rs 30,125 and Rs 29,975 per 10 grams, respectively.

Spot gold eased by 0.3 percent to $1,285.16 an ounce by 0008 GMT.
Oil prices jumped on Monday as a huge wildfire in Canada's oil sand region knocked out over a million barrels in daily production capacity, contributing to a significant tightening of markets over the past weeks.
Akshaya Tritiya, considered an auspicious day to buy gold, is likely to be lacklustre this time as jewellers are expecting negative marginal growth compared to last year, on the back of rising gold prices, which is ruling at over Rs 30,000 per 10 grams.

Commodity prices of steel and other industrial metals are up sharply as Chinese economic data has become much better.

Precious metals are rising with it, especially silver.
Silver, used widely in manufacturing, has outperformed gold in recent days.

Silver prices have climbed 11 percent so far this month, helped by a break through chart resistance at its late October high on Tuesday.

MCX Copper continued its journey of recovery and ended with smart gains which at one point of the day looked unlikely. Investors attributed the move both to a weaker greenback.

Gold dips slightly after hitting 3-wk top on profit-taking.
Gold jumped to a three-week peak on Tuesday on expectations the Federal Reserve will not raise US interest rates soon and as the dollar traded close to its lowest in nearly eight months.
Spot gold rose to USD 1,259.66 an ounce early on Tuesday, its highest since March 18. However, it pared gains to trade down 0.2 percent at USD 1,254.70 an ounce by 0036 GMT, on profit-taking following a 1.4-percent overnight gain.
US gold futures also climbed to a three-week top of USD 1,261.90.

Asian stocks made a subdued start on Tuesday, with Japanese shares dipping on a bullish yen.
In the physical markets, more than half of Indian jewellers reopened their shops on Monday after keeping them closed for nearly six weeks in protest over the reintroduction of excise duty on gold jewellery.
Oil prices dipped in early Asian trade on Tuesday, but both US and international crude futures held above USD40 per barrel ahead of a meeting of major producers to discuss freezing output levels to rein in ballooning oversupply.
