Today in Mcx Top stock exchanges NSE and BSE have decided to extend the
trading session for Gold Exchange Traded Funds on Tuesday till 7 PM on account
of Dhanteras - a day considered auspicious for buying gold. Besides, both the
bourses have decided to waive off the transactions charges for all trades in
gold ETF securities on that day.
In separate notices, NSE and BSE said that they would
conduct "an extended live trading session on Tuesday, October 21,
2014" in Gold ETF securities "on the auspicious occasion of
Dhanteras".Gold retained overnight gains on Tuesday to trade near a one-month high as
Asian equities and the dollar marked time, with markets awaiting China and US
data to gauge the strength of the global economy.
* Spot gold was
little changed at USD 1,245.50 an ounce by 0034 GMT, after gaining 0.7 percent
in the previous session.Gold jumped to a one-month high of USD 1,249.30 last
week as fears over a slowdown in the global economy sent investors chasing
after safe-haven assets.
