Gold Prices Surged Today : Gold prices rose further in the domestic bullion market today due to continued buying from jewellery stockists and retail consumers, driven by a strong global sentiment. 
Silver, too, witnessed a sharp movement, due to a heavy speculative offtake coupled with higher industrial offtake . Standard gold (99.5 purity) spurted by Rs 100 to end at Rs 26,800 per 10 grams from overnight Rs 26,700.
Palladium steadied near a more than 13-year high on Thursday as supply concerns from a Five-month strike in No.2 producer South Africa triggered buying from industrial users and investors. Palladium, used in jewellery and catalytic converters to clean exhaust emissions - chiefly of gasoline-powered vehicles, has gained more than 20 percent so far this year, overshadowing its sister metal platinum that has risen about 8 percent. 

Crude palm oil prices fell for the third consecutive day by losing 0.22 per cent to Rs 510.30 per 10 kg in futures market today as speculators offloaded positions due to sluggish demand in the spot market. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in June fell Rs 1.10, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 510.30 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 22 lots.

Mcx Market : Gold, Silver Up on Stockiest Buying

Gold prices rose by Rs 85 to Rs 27,185 per ten gram in the national capital today as buying activity picked up at prevailing level amidst a firming global trend.
 

Silver also traded higher by Rs 250 to Rs 41,000 per kg on increased offtake by industrial units.

Traders said increased buying by stockists after demand from jewellers picked up at current levels and a better trend in the global markets influenced the precious metal prices.

In Delhi, gold of 99.9 and 99.5 per cent purity rose by Rs 85 each to Rs 27,185 and Rs 26,985 per ten gram respectively. Sovereign, however, held steady at Rs 24,400 per piece of eight gram in scattered deals.

Silver ready advanced by Rs 250 to Rs 41,000 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 745 to Rs 40,815 per kg, while silver coins continued be enquired at Rs 75,000 for buying and Rs 76,000 for selling of 100 pieces.



MCX Tips-Nickel Futures Down on Global Trend

Nickel futures today traded lower by 0.38 per cent to Rs 1,116.20 per kg largely in tune with a weakening trend overseas amid subdued spot demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in June weakened by Rs 4.30 paise, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 1,116.20 per kg in business turnover of 1,032 lots.Similarly, the metal for delivery in July traded lower by Rs 4.20, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 1,121.50 per kg in 20 lots.
Market analysts said apart from weak demand from alloy-makers at domestic spot markets, a weak trend in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange mainly weighed on nickel prices at futures trade here.

After a series of consolidation phase in Gold over the last one week, the prices showed some decisive moves . The metal tested a high of Rs 26010 per 10 grams, and settled at Rs 25982 per 10 grams, up 0.46%. It is expected that Gold will now be looking to cross Rs 26000 levels and will try and form a resistance near Rs 26300 and 26500 per 10 grams.

Although Copper has managed to pull marginal gains on the trading of 9 June 2014,
there is still more room left for the prices to go down. The benchmark Copper contract for June expiry is very likely to be sold on every rally from here on. The prices are expected to show some supports at Rs 394 per kg and Rs 391 per kg.
Brent futures rose above $110 a barrel on Tuesday, after posting their biggest daily gain in nearly two months in the previous session, on hopes of healthy demand growth from the United States and China - the world's top two oil consumers.
Platinum extended its winning streak to a fifth straight session on Tuesday as talks to resolve a five-month long strike in top producer South Africa were deadlocked.

Platinum rose 0.4 percent to $1,449.60 an ounce by 0238 GMT, after earlier hitting $1,454.75, its highest since May 30. It gained 1.5 percent over the previous four sessio

MCX Tips -Nickel, Aluminium Prices May Gain

Nickel and aluminium are expected to trade higher on supply crunch and production cuts.

Nickel has been the best performer on the international markets with gains of 5.3 percent in May’14 as OAO GMK Norilsk Nickel, the world’s largest producer of the metal, forecast the market surplus will shrink to the smallest in four years in 2014 after the Indonesian ban on ore exports.

Copper prices are likely to trade with a negative bias as the US economic recovery as indicated by the recent contraction in GDP of 1 percent has fuelled worries with regards to the demand outlook for the red metal.

MCX SILVERMIC June contract was trading at Rs 39756 down Rs 93, or 0.23 percent. The SILVERMIC rate touched an intraday high of Rs 39880 and an intraday low of Rs 39665. So far 14095 contracts have been traded.

Afternoon Highlights of MCX Market



Gold was little changed near a four-month low on Thursday but faced a risk of more losses if the European Central Bank (ECB) meets expectations to cut rates, a move that could strengthen the dollar and hurt bullion.
The Brent oil contract fell 0.4% to $108.40 a barrel on the ICE Futures Europe exchange, its fourth consecutive losing session.
Nickel in London was little changed at $19,015 a ton. Production at Vale SA’s plant in New Caledonia is set to resume within 10 days after the company received government permission to restart operations.
Copper traded near a three-week low as investors weighed shrinking stockpiles against reports of a probe of metals warehousing at a Chinese port.

Silver also declined marginally due to the sluggish industrial demand. Standard gold (99.5 purity) eased by Rs 30 to finish at Rs 26,770 per 10 grams against overnight level of Rs 26,800.
Oil prices dipped in Asia Thursday after Russian President Vladimir Putin reached out a hand to crisis-hit Ukraine, raising hopes of an easing in the worst East-West standoff since the Cold War.

Mcx Market - Gold Extends Losses on Global Cues

Gold firmed on Tuesday, snapping a five-day losing streak as European shares dipped, but was still trading near its lowest level in four months after upbeat U.S. data kept the dollar close to a multi-month high versus a basket of currencies.
Spot gold edged up 0.1 percent to $1,245.40 an ounce by 1016 GMT. The slight rise on Tuesday followed a five-day decline that was the metal's longest losing streak in nearly seven months.
Continued its falling streak, gold prices declined by Rs 20 to Rs 27,200 per ten gram in the national capital today owing to slackened demand amid a weak global trend.
While, silver moved up by Rs 350 to Rs 40,700 per kg on increased offtake by industrial units and coin makers.

Live Mcx Tips- Gold Holds Near Four Month Low

Gold traded near a four-month low in London as investors weighed gains in equities and the dollar against speculation the drop may spur more buying. 
The metal’s drop took it below a technical level that suggests to some that prices may be poised to rebound. 
Gold steadied on Tuesday after a five-day losing streak but was still trading near its lowest level in four months as stronger equities dented the metal's investment-hedge appeal.  
Spot gold edged up 0.2 per cent to $1,246.00 an ounce by 0645 GMT. The five-day decline before Tuesday is the metal's longest losing streak in nearly seven months.
